Enfis & Breconridge Forge World Class Partnership
Both companies are focussed on developing and utilising best in class technologies in product design and in the manufacturing processes. Enfis, formed in May 2001 as a spin-out from the University of Wales Swansea and seed funded in 2002 by Sir Terence Mathews owned venture capital fund, Wesley Clover, specialises in developing semiconductor based light source modules and systems. These systems are initially designed for use in the healthcare market although other complementary markets are also being explored such as the rapidly growing displays and industrial sectors. BreconRidge is a global provider of Electronic Manufacturing Services supplying full turnkey solutions as well as consultancy in electronics design, test and manufacture. Graham Neathway, Chairman of BreconRidge commented “we are very excited about this agreement with Enfis. The combination of BreconRidge’s global electronics manufacturing and design in conjunction with Enfis’ innovative products is a winning proposition to take to market”. This agreement provides Enfis with access to the worldwide IS09000 certified, design and manufacturing expertise of BreconRidge and provides BreconRidge with a first step into the significant US based healthcare market and access to Enfis’ innovative photonics product team and intellectual property base. This agreement endorses the BreconRidge decision to focus on the embryonic semiconductor light source market and to work with the strategic customers in this field. Speaking from the Photonics West trade show at Silicon Valley’s San Jose, where they are currently exhibiting Shaun Oxenham, CEO of Enfis, described the agreement as a “major development in helping us to get our patented technologies to market in the most professional and competitive way”.
