Electronics Sector
Wales enjoys a stable base of smaller companies with their HQ and/or a substantial part of their operation based here. Low volume products are a characteristic of the sector. Their customer-base tends to be specialist, often within the European electronics industry. In contrast to high volume manufacturers, products have quite long lifecycles and tend to be heavily technology dependent although the supply chains of both are deep and global.
