Who we Are
The Welsh Electronics Forum is an organisation which was set up in 1999, which is run by industry, for industry. The work of the Forum and its many task-and-finish Action Groups is co-ordinated by senior industrialists. This means that we are uniquely placed to speak on behalf of software, semiconductor opto and electronics companies throughout Wales. This is reflected in our organisational structure:
- The Council, acting as the Board of Directors
- Strategic Groups for Skills, Marketing and Business Development
- Sector and Regional Groups for software, semiconductors, electronics in North Wales, high volume manufacturers
The Council acts as the Board of Directors for the Welsh Electronics Forum, a company limited by guarantee. It consults widely with industry and sets the strategy for the development of the sector in partnership with public sector partners such as the Welsh Assembly Government. The Council comprises:
The Strategic Marketing Group is responsible to developing and implementing campaigns to raise the profile of the industry and its members. It is driven by marketing, PR and corporate communications professionals. Key members of this Group are:
Driven by HR and training professionals, this group identifies the recruitment and skills needs of the industry and pilots training programmes to address these needs. Key members of the Group are:

MDs and other senior company representatives, particularly of smaller SMEs in the software, semiconductor and electronics sectors, meet regularly to share business development ideas.
