Where do I get More Information?

Your first port of call for in-depth career advice and guidance should be the Adult Guidance Service operating throughout Wales. Whether you want to get back into work or are currently in a job and looking to progress, Adult Guidance staff will be able to help. To find your local guidance centre call learndirect on 0800 100 900 or visit their website www.learndirect.co.uk

If you're over 25, you can sign up for the new Modern Skills Diploma for Adults. You are welcome to join whatever your status, whether working or unemployed. Once you've started you will have employed status and will be working to achieve an industry recognised National Vocational Qualification of at least level 3.

If you're currently unemployed, New Deal, for people aged 18-59, gives you a real chance to develop your potential, gain skills and experience and find work in the industry. Alternatively, Work Based Learning for Adults is a flexible programme that combines guidance, structured work experience and recognised qualifications in a package that will help you get and keep a job.

How can I Fund my Training?

If you know where you want to go but need financial assistance to make it happen, why not consider a Career Development Loan. They are available from certain banks and will help you cover up to 80 per cent of the cost of an education or training course, whether full or part time. You don't have to pay anything back until one month after your course finishes.
